Alexander Borodin (Petrozavodsk State University, Russia)Lately, the market of mobile applications intended for monitoring one or another health parameter tends to grow. Such applications operate in tandem with external sensor hardware or use on-board sensors of the smartphone. Monitoring applications generally provide a log of vital sign variation and cloud services for remote access to stored recordings at any time and from anywhere. A few applications also provide a feedback, e.g. an individual can get an advice to slow his physical activity in order to decrease the heart rate.
Nevertheless, prescriptions for disease treatment should not rely on computer program suggestions only. It is the doctor who has a decisive voice in diagnosis and bears responsibility for its relevance. So-called computer-aided diagnosis systems should assist health professionals in the interpretation of medical facts. Therefore, health monitoring services should include an interface allowing the doctor to get a remote access to vital sign recordings and to send feedback to the patient.
The goal of presented project is to develop a component for CardiaCare heart function monitoring service providing the doctors with virtual workplace to view and annotate cardiogram recordings. The workplace is developed as a mobile application for Android, Windows Phone and iOS platforms and is available over the web.
