Mobile Client Control of Notification Check Interval for Subscription in Smart Space

Smart space supports network interaction of multiple participants though information sharing. For detection of changes (by others) a participant applies subscription operation, which allows receiving notifications on a regular basis. Delivery of notifications is not guaranteed, especially in the case of mobile clients with frequent faults in the underlying wireless network. In this paper, we study the problem of active control by a client its subscription notifications. We introduce a simple mathematical model for control the notification check interval, which ensures client adaptation to the current notification loss level.
