Simulation Results of Backoff Protocol with Poissondistributed Counter Selection

MSc. A.Borodin (Petrozavodsk State University, Russia)

In a variety of self-organized communication networks, algorithms based on a binary exponential backoff protocol are used as a part of channel access method to achieve better congestion avoidance. In algorithm proposed in our previous work, senders of collided data frames wait a poisson-distributed number of time slots before retransmission. In this talk simulation results of communication systems based on this algorithm are presented and discussed.
