Publish/Subscribe Internet Routing Paradigm (PSIRP) - Concrete Results of the Project

Professor Arto Karila(Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT, Finland)

The 30-month PSIRP project of EU FP7, with the goal of designing, implementing and validating an entirely pub/sub-based internetwork, is approaching its end. In the project, a complete architecture has been defined and its key components implemented. The building of an integrated prototype, with all the implemented components interoperating, is underway and the results will be demonstrated at ICT'2010 in Brussels in late September. This presentation focuses on the concrete results of and lessons learned in the project. As a whole, the project has been a success and funding has already been granted for a continuation project, where the concept will be developed further and expanded towards optical and wireless communications and applications.
